The Wildcats are an Australian Rules Football Club based in West London.
We’re a strong, diverse, and lively club that fields three men’s teams and two women’s teams in the AFL London league.
Working hard on the track from January to August, we’re competitive on game day and always play to win.
Off the field, we pride ourselves on being one of the most social AFL clubs in London. From boat parties to pub crawls, and race days at Royal Ascot to an end-of-year footy trip to Greece – our social events calendar is always jam-packed.
So, if you’re up for a challenge, want to make mates for life, and are keen for a good time – there’s a spot for you at the Cats.

Where Do We Train?
The West London Wildcats’ home ground is Chiswick Rugby Club, Dukes Meadows (W4 2SH). We’re the only AFL London club with club rooms – equipped with change rooms, BBQ, and bar.
Our Winter Preseason (January – April) is held at Lillie Road Recreation Ground in Hammersmith and Fulham.
Our Summer Training (April – August) is based at the Old Football Pitches in Hyde Park on Tuesdays, and at our home ground at Chiswick Rugby Club on Thursdays.

Our History
Born in 1990, the West London Wildcats are one of the founding Aussie rules clubs in the AFL London League.
We won our first premiership in 2000, against the Wandsworth Demons, and have continued to build an imposing grand final record throughout the club’s 30+ year history.
The AFL London Conference division was formed in 2001 and with that, our second men’s team – the Shepherds Bush Raiders (‘Ders), was born. The Ealing Emus (‘Chooks’) joined our ranks the following year to compete in the AFL London Social division.
In 2004 we claimed a ‘grand slam’ – winning the ANZAC Cup preseason tournament, the Brit Cup, and both the Conference and Premier division premierships. It was a feat we repeated in the 2006 season.
Fast forward to 2014. We celebrated the club’s 25th anniversary by winning the premiership flag in all three AFL London divisions and securing a spot in the inaugural AFL Europe Champions League tournament, held in Amsterdam. We went on to win this title in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
2017 saw the formation of our inaugural women’s team. They went on to win their first premiership against the Wandsworth Demons in the AFL London Women’s Conference division. The following year, a second women’s team was added to our ranks to compete in the Premier AFL London division.
2019 was yet another momentous year for the club – winning both the Men’s Conference and Premiership division premierships.
All five teams returned to the field in 2021, following the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. And we ended the year with a win for the ‘Chooks’ after a seven-year drought.
In 2022, the West London Wildcats women won the club’s first flag in the AFL London Women’s Premiership division. And the Cats men took home yet another premiership flag. Both teams will be competing in the 2023 AFL Europe Champions League competition, held in Paris.
Netball
Thought we were all footy? Think again! We have seven successful netball teams that play at various locations across West London.
We currently have four mixed netball teams based in Fulham Broadway and Hammersmith. Plus, two recreational ladies’ netball teams at Kensington Olympia and one intermediate ladies’ team at Parsons Green.
Each netball season runs for about eight to ten weeks and rolls continuously throughout the year. Players of all skill levels are welcome!
